Inflorescence Top in Ground, Annotated

The inflorescence often resembles a cube, with a flower on five of the six faces.  The top flower often has four petals and eight stamens, while the lateral flowers often have five petals and ten stamens.  The peduncle is attached to the inflorescence at the bottom, sixth face of the cube.
