Inflorescence Side

End of Fir River Road, West of Hudson Bay
11-June-2014

The inflorescence often resembles a cube, with a flower on five of the six faces.  The top flower often has four petals and eight stamens, while the lateral flowers often have five petals and ten stamens.  The peduncle is attached to the inflorescence at the bottom, sixth face of the cube.

Note the five petals and five styles on this lateral flower.  The lateral flowers often have ten stamens, but not all of these are visible or present on this flower.
