Note the five styles, each divided into two pink-tipped, capitate stigmas. In general, the flower can have 3 to 5 styles. Note also the five stamens with orange pollen.
Flora of North America states that D. rotundifolia is found on sphagnum hummocks, D. anglica is found more often around bases of hummocks and on fen margins, and D. linearis is found on open marl.
