The anthers and distal portions of the filaments are united in a tube which surrounds the style. There are three long anthers with some pubescence on their backs and two distinctly shorter anthers with a tuft of hairs at their tips. The ovary is half inferior, with the basal portion enclosed by a hypanthium and the distal portion exposed and rising above the attachment points of the sepals, petals, and stamens.
