The galea (swelling at the top of the upper corolla lip) has been removed from this flower. Two of the four anthers normally enclosed within the galea are clearly visible in this photo. All four of the calyx lobes are also visible.
The key to the genera in Budd's Flora requires the following contradictory or incorrect answers for Melampyrum. My comments are in red.
