Lomatium foeniculaceum
Hairy-Fruited Parsley
Fruiting Umbellets Side
Oro Lake Regional Park
09-June-2007
Note that the key to the species in both Budd's Flora and Flora of Alberta requires fruit densely puberulent. However, the Flora of the Great Plains states that the fruit of the variety found in Saskatchewan (var. foeniculaceum) can vary from pubescent to glabrate. Fruit pubescence is not clearly visible in any of the photos of this specimen. Perhaps higher magnification would have revealed it.
Note the fruitless remains of the sterile male flowers on the central umbellets.
