Each stamen is composed of a filament and an anther. Each anther is composed of two thecae, each theca opening via a pore. Note the anthers are awnless.
Budd's Flora places genus Vaccinium in family Vacciniaceae. Flora of Alberta follows more modern treatments and places Vaccinium in a more broadly circumscribed Ericaceae. In addition, Budd's Flora names the species angustifolium instead of myrtilloides. Therefore the notes below reflect a combination of the two different schemes.
