Note part of the corolla and some of the stamens have been removed to reveal the interior of the flower.

Budd's Flora places genus Vaccinium in family Vacciniaceae.  Flora of Alberta follows more modern treatments and places Vaccinium in a more broadly circumscribed Ericaceae.  In addition, Budd's Flora names the species angustifolium instead of myrtilloides.  Therefore the notes below reflect a combination of the two different schemes.
