Budd's Flora places genus Vaccinium in family Vacciniaceae Flora of Alberta follows more modern treatments and places Vaccinium in a more broadly circumscribed Ericaceae.  In addition, Budd's Flora names the species angustifolium instead of myrtilloides.  Therefore the notes below reflect a combination of the two different schemes.
