Chenopodium strictum
Late-Flowering Goosefoot
Inflorescence
B-Say Tah Beach, Echo Lake
20-Aug-2019
I have identified this plant as C. strictum because of the shape of the leaf blades and seeds. The presence of petioles on some leaves does not match the requirements of the Flora of North America and Diana Robson keys. However, the Flora of North America illustration of this species appears to show some leaves with short petioles.
A key to all the Chenopodium species occurring in Saskatchewan is found here. This key was derived from the key in the Flora of North America by removing all the non-Saskatchewan species. Another key to the Chenopodium species written by Diana Bizecki Robson is found here.
